Bulgur & Mushrooms

(Quick preparation package)

Ingredients for 4-6 portions:
  • 4 tbsp olive oil or canola oil
  • 6 chopped shallots or 2 chopped onions
  • 1 pkg Tekoa Farms Bulgur and Mushrooms mix
  • Salt to taste

 

 

  • A pinch of black pepper
  • ½ tsp grated fresh turmeric or ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • 500 ml boiling water
  • 4 tbsp olive oil or canola oil
  • 6 chopped shallots or 2 chopped onions
  • 1 pkg Tekoa Farms Bulgur and Mushrooms mix
  • Salt to taste

 

 

  • A pinch of black pepper
  • ½ tsp grated fresh turmeric or ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • 500 ml boiling water
Method:

Heat the oil in a medium size pot. Sauté the onions/shallots until golden. Add the bulgur mix, salt, turmeric and pepper. Mix and sauté for another minute. Add the water and mix. Cook covered on a low flame for about 20 minutes. Close the flame, gently stir with a fork, cover  and let stand  for 10 minutes.

* Just before serving, garnish with chopped parsley or coriander leaves if desired.

Ingredients: Bulgur, (80%. Wheat -contains gluten)’ fried brown lentils (lentils, unrefined soya oil, dried mushrooms (4.8% maitake and shiitake) and dried carrots.
